About the proposed golf course

A detailed economic viability study by golf course expert Gene Krekorian found that a 12-hole course would be the best fit, financially and footprint wise, for the redeveloped Camarillo Springs Golf Course. A 12-hole golf course is one-third smaller in size, equating to less maintenance costs which translates to more “market driven” fees and charges, and it saves golf at Camarillo Springs.

Pro Forma Advisors, expert golf consultants, said in their recent economic impact report that the proposed golf course would be designed as a 12-hole regulation length layout. These unconventional golf course layouts are consistent with an emerging trend in the golf industry to appeal to broader range of golfers and offer greater flexibility in responding to golfers with limited recreation time.

Jack Nicklaus, the all-time major championship record holder, said casual non-tournament rounds should be 12 holes instead of 18.
